GIFTS is an intimate exploration of memory, sentiment and emotional connection. The ongoing project delves into the artist’s personal collection of objects that have been gifted to her as well as traditions or behaviours that have been passed down through family. Each ‘gift’ holds a narrative which Jessica presents through writing, spoken word, photography and video. This interplay reflects on how seemingly mundane objects and behaviours can serve as vessels for personal history and be transformed into powerful symbols of love, loss and belonging.
