Reminded me of the journey to Grandma’s 

Wondering whether she has made her delicious rock cakes 

Sometimes she had,  sometimes we’d make them together 

Sitting in her kitchen at the table in the middle with 4 chairs 

Always set with placemats and knives and forks 

Cups of tea out of old mugs or sometimes with a saucer 

The two chairs in the back room that leads to the garden facing the TV 

Chatting away none stop talking whilst we wait for the rock cakes to bake

Everything always in it’s place, nothing ever moves

Always sweets in the bowl, the same sweet tooth

Always the same ornaments on the window sill, the same furniture, the same pictures  

Everything the same

Always the same specific smell at grandma’s

The rock cakes are ready 

Sometimes we’d eat all the rock cakes but sometimes if there were any left over Grandma let us take them with us in a box or a bag 

Always with a glacier cherry on top
